Dr. M Venu Gopala Rao obtained his B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Vijayanagar Engineering College in 1996, an M.E. in Electrical Power Engineering from MS University, Baroda in 1999, an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from JNTU College of Engineering Kakinada in 2004 and a Ph.D. from JNTU Hyderabad in 2009.
He worked at Prasad V. Potluri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Vijayawada from August 2015 to August 2022 as a professor and HoD, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He served as Professor & HoD, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, KL University from January 2010 to August 2015 and at QIS College of Engineering & Technology, Ongole from August 2000 to January 2010 in various academic and administrative positions.
He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers (India), a Life Member of the Solar Energy Society of India and a Member of ISTE.
Six scholars completed their Ph.Ds under his supervision, and eight scholars are currently pursuing their Ph.Ds at JNTUK, Kakinada, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, and Annamalai University.
He has published in 120 journals and conference proceedings. He was a member of the editorial board of the I Manager's Power System Engineering Journal, as well as a reviewer for prestigious journals such as Elsevier and the Institute of Engineers, among others. He served as Technical Session Chair at the IEEE International Conference TENCON 2016, which was held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, and TENCON 2017, which was held in Penang, Malaysia.
He was mentored on one project worth Rs. 23.48 Lakhs sanctioned by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, under WOS-A. AICTE awarded a grant of 13 lakh rupees under the MODROB Scheme.
He organized a “International Conference on Smart Electric Grid” at KL University on 19th & 20th September 2014, which was technically sponsored by the IEEE Hyderabad Section
He was a member of "Board of Studies" Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Narasaraopet Engineering College from 2016 to 2018. He is currently a member of "Board of Studies" Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Vishnu Institute of Technology in Bhimavaram, as well as a member of the Doctoral Review Committees at VIT in Vellore and Vignan's University in Guntur.
