EVENTS

CUBE TEST

OBJECTIVE

Design a Concrete Mix to achieve a higher strength to weight ratio.

INSTRUCTIONS

• A Mix Design Report, 'Aggregate and Cement Test Report' shall be submitted with each entry.
• Each Entry will consist of a group of maximum four students.
• Minimum 3 cubes shall be submitted with each entry.
• Name of participants along with their organization details should be indicated or marked on the cubes.
• All the participants should bring their concrete cube specimens for testing on the day of the competition.
• Any kind of aggregates, cementitious materials, admixtures are used confirming to IS: 9103 Standards.
• Use of fibers are strictly prohibited.
• Cubical test specimens shall be of 150 x 150 x 150 mm size.

TEST OF CUBES

• Testing of cubes will start on the mentioned date of competition and at the hosting institute.
• Testing will be done as per IS: 516-2021.
• The average strength of 3 cubes in direct compression shall be considered for merit adjudged from the following:
1. Ratio of strength to weight.
2. Uniformity of results.
3 .Deviation from target strength.

MODEL EXPO

Instructions

• Information is a source of learning. Unless it is organized, processed and available in right format it is hard to endure.
• You can make a model or a prototype that is relevant to the Civil Engineering, can exhibit and explain about it.
• Each entry will consists of a group of maximum five students.
• Winner will be judged by judges.
• No any objections take in decision of judges.
• Students should be present during judging of their models and give the explanation about their topic.
• Choice of the material and size of the model is as per participants discretion.
• Participants have to bring a built model to the confest-2023 for display.
• Ready-made or factory made models will not be accepted.

TECHNICAL QUIZ

RULES

• A maximum of three members in a team are allowed.
• Technical Quiz event will be held in three rounds.
• In the first round, the participants should answer the questions related to Concrete Technology in a sheet which contains MCQs.
• The shortlisted teams will be qualified for the next round.
• The next level is a Rapid-Fire round. In this round the participants will be asked to answer the questions on Concrete Technology.
• The last round is the “Quest the Treasure” round. Participants should search for treasure using clues (college map will be provided to the participants).

POSTER PRESENTATION

Instructions for e-posters preparation

• A Maximum of 3 members in a team are allowed.
• Poster should be written ONLY in English language.
• Concept of the E-Poster (should be related to Concrete Technology).
• The poster presentation should have Introduction, Objectives, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
• Names and affiliations of all authors with their corresponding institute affiliation and their addresses to be submitted to the organizers.
• The logo of the affiliated institution/university should be placed on the upper left-hand corner, whilst the first author’s color photograph (passport style) should be placed on the upper right-hand corner of the poster.
• Font size: ≥10.
• File format: Required format (PDF and JPEG).
• If you design your E-Poster in PowerPoint (PPT), all the information must be represented within ONE (1) slide only. Save your PPT into PDF and JPEG format.

• Posters should include a good combination of words, pictures, and graphics. The authors are suggested to avoid including too much text in it.
